Well-being for Your Life

Jacqueline H. Chan, MA, MPS Candidate

Qigong Acolyte and Spiritually-Integrated Therapist

Qigong is a tool for self-compassion and love.

Jacqueline H. Chan is a passionate Qigong acolyte for the practice of Qi Gong and mind-body meditative movement. Having grown up in a single-parent home, Jacqueline brings a deep sense of resilience and strength to her practice of Qi Gong.

From the age of 6, Jacqueline has immersed herself in the study and practice of Qi Gong under the guidance of Qi Gong masters. Her journey began with the late Master Weizhao Wu, who served as a dear mentor and grandfather figure in her life. Jacqueline continues her training and exploration of Qi Gong with her loving single mother, Master Teresa, who has passed down invaluable wisdom and teachings.

In her professional journey, Jacqueline has embarked on a meaningful transition to pursue her passion for psychotherapy. Drawing upon her extensive experience in mind-body practices and clinical research, she is now dedicated to supporting individuals in their mental and emotional well-being. Jacqueline's commitment to this new path is reflected in her ongoing studies as she pursues a Masters of Pastoral Studies in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy at The University of Toronto.

Throughout her career transition, Jacqueline continues to share her expertise and knowledge in mind-body practices. Her contributions at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) have been instrumental in valuable research endeavors for the past four years. Additionally, she has taken on the role of a Qigong teacher and presenter at esteemed events and conferences such as The SickKids Mindfulness Project, The Mindfulness & Compassion Rounds, and The Mindful Society Conference.

Most notably, Jacqueline recently showcased her practices and shared her personal insights at Victoria University's "Minding our Minds Mental Health in Education Conference." Her presence and expertise left a lasting impact on attendees, inspiring them with her calming approaches and deep understanding of holistic well-being.

As Jacqueline transitions into her role as a psychotherapist, she combines her passion for mind-body practices, her extensive clinical research background, and her dedication to supporting individuals on their healing journeys. Her unique blend of expertise and compassionate care makes her a valuable asset in the field of psychotherapy.

Jacqueline is currently pursuing her graduate studies in psychotherapy and interfaith spiritual care at The University of Toronto, further enriching her understanding of the mind-body connection and its impact on overall well-being.

This practice renews my energy, and detoxes my mind from all sorts of negativity that exists in my everyday life.
